Abstract:

The present attempt was made to study the faunal diversity of fishes and fishery potential at three major wetlands of Kolhapur district viz. Tamadalge, Laxmiwadi and Vadgaon. The Fish diversity and Fishery potential of the perennial tanks was studied by monthly during June 2008 to May 2009. The water of the tank is used for domestic, agriculture and fishery activities. Fish collections were done with net of several mesh sizes.
